Orkney Weekend

Anothersuperb weekend was had by all in Orkney. On the Friday night we allentered the Charity doubles which was in aid of children in Belarus.This was won by Ronnie Ewing and Mike Forbes beating the Orkney pair of Martin Peace and Aaron Mitchell 4-1. Picture of the winners and runners can be seen below.A total of £600 was raised on the evening which was a fantastic amount.Straight after the doubles we played our first team match of theweekend which by that time there were a few players a bit worse for wear not mentioning any names Mr Will, we just managed to scrape anarrow 8-7 win. 

 On the Saturday afternoon we were playing a team from the Legion, again we had several casualties before a dart was even thrown it was a fantastic afternoon of darts but the end result was not good for us as we fell toa heavy 11-1 defeat. On the Saturday night there was another doubles competition which is drawn out of the hat. The final was Mike Forbes & Tone against Neil Watson & George, with Mike and Tone coming out on top. (Apologies to the Orkney lads as I cant remember correctnames)

 Sunday afternoon was our last darts match of the weekend against the lads from Quoyburray, this one went all the way down to the wire with the Quoyburray coming out on top 8-7.

So that was it for another year, a great weekend of darts and the usualsuperb banter. We look forward to next year already and would like to thank all the people involved because without you all there would be no weekend.

 Presentation Night

A fantastic night had by all at the end of season presentation andsingles darts competition. As far as I am aware everybody thought thiswas a good night, speaking for myself I thought it was a superb eveningwith a very decent turnout and hopefully we will go for the same againat the end of next season. Congratulations goes out to our winner Charlie Simpson and of course to Mike Forbes who Charlie beat 4-3 inthe final.

Congratulations go out to the Country Park Inn for becoming the 2008 - 2009 Central Buchan Darts League Champions with one match to spare.

They have dedicated there win to Eddie Watson who has been playing in the Central Buchan Darts League for about 100 Years well ok 30+ then and has never been in a League winning side. So well done to him and a great gesture from the rest of his team mates.
